EUROCARDAN XPLUS
THE PROFESSIONAL LARGE SIZE DRIVESHAFT
It represents the size 12 and 14 driveshafts of Eurocardan's most advanced and performing product line.
The XPlus driveshafts are the largest made at Eurocardan. The performance, sturdiness and technology is that of the entire Plus range.
They, as for the Plus line, are distinguished by the anthracite grey colour of all the protective plastics and by the presence of the ring nut, the part that creates absorption between the fixed protection and the driveshaft that rotates inside, containing graphite which reduces friction and improves sliding. Another important feature is the use of special crosses, produced by an excellent partner, which have the outer shell obtained by deep drawing, in which, having a larger internal volume, it is possible to use larger involute rollers to increase robustness. The cross is a fundamental element to ensure the performance and long life of the driveshaft.
The crosses of the XPlus line require little maintenance and are equipped with 3 radial seals plus an axial one which acts as a dust seal, to guarantee an efficient product over time.
The tubes used in the Plus series are mainly the York ones, a Y profile that has a series of evolutions and performances in addition to the classic trilobe tubes. The support surfaces are larger and the transmission is distributed evenly and precisely. Furthermore, this innovative profile is used to apply the new GS® greasing system (optional) resolving the problem of lubricating the tubes avoiding disassembly of the transmission and greasing the cardan in a single point of the joint.
During the production phase, measurements and tests are essential to obtain a high-performance product. The control of linearity during rotation is very important, i.e. checking how much the shaft oscillates outside its own axis. The results must be below 5 tenths.
